Mr. & Mrs. Hesse - 07.04.20
Ashley and Cole came to us shortly before their wedding, because their original May date was affected by COVID. When they rescheduled for July, their original photographer wasn’t available, so they were referred to us…and man are we glad they were!
Their day started off at Hotel Old Town, in Wichita KS where the girls were getting hair and makeup done, sharing memories, and showering the Bride with all the feels. Her ladies put together a scrapbook of memories, pictures, and letters of love and blessings over her new marriage. To say that this day was full of emotion would be a huge understatement!
Since we weren’t originally their wedding photographers, we hadn’t spent any time other than phone calls, getting to know Ashley and Cole, so we didn’t know what to really expect on their day. We were greeted with huge smiles, lots of jokes, and an adorable love story to capture that day. Cole and Ashley had been together FOR-EV-ER, and they all made “it’s about time” jokes throughout the day. We knew these people were our kind of people.
Ashley and Cole chose to have a quiet moment together in the day, but did not to do a first look before the ceremony. She did do one with her dad and I’M NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING! It was one of the sweetest moments of the day.
Their ceremony was at St. Thomas Aquinas, performed by one of our favorites, Father Matt McGuinness. They reminisced of their budding relationship, incorporated family blessings, and were obviously relieved when it was all over!
After the ceremony, we snagged a few family photos, wedding party, and couple’s photos before exiting the church, to travel downtown to photograph more relaxed portraits. They even brought their adorable pup for some one-of-a-kind dog-parent pics. We loved all of the personal touches they incorporated for their special day.
We headed to Distillery 244 for a fantastic reception. Ambiance Events by April always knows how to hit a home run with decor, setup, and really setting the mood for their romantic reception. A plated dinner was served from the incredible George’s French Bistro, and the candle lit space really took you to another world.
After toasts were given, laughs were shared, and tears were shed, Cole and Ashley kicked off the party by sharing their first dance as Husband and Wife. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house - ours included!
They shared dances with their parents, and had the coolest band, The Get Down, from OKC to keep the party bumping all night long.
We ended the evening with congratulations to the couple, shared a few sneak peeks for them to enjoy on their first night as Mr. and Mrs., and we absolutely could not wait to finish the rest of their pictures in just under two weeks. Even though we weren’t who they originally planned on, this was definitely an all-around match made in heaven.
