From the inspiration of Ashley Moore, owner of Events and Design by Ashley, we were able to capture her vision brought to life. Some of the best vendors in the state worked tirelessly to incorporate Pantone's 2019 Color of the Year - Living Coral - paired with a unique, romantic take on incorporating balloons at a wedding. We had multiple balloon elements, including a huge balloon garland constructed by ladies from Love of Character. The cascading garland was delicately adorned with gorgeous florals from Moore's Flowers, and complimented by shades of coral fabric provided by Le Luci.
Our couple, Hannah and Jordan Willis, met their freshman year of college, when Jordan was working for the cook in Hannah's sorority. She was so nervous to talk to him, so logically, she would just avoid him by dropping off her plate after meals and making a beeline for the exit! They would soon find out that they had a lot of mutual friends, worked at the same summer camp, and ended up being on the same prayer team together. Jordan actually asked Hannah on a date (finally!) the summer between her junior and senior year and she was SO excited. She thought, "THIS IS IT!!" For some reason, though, Jordan wasn't on the same page... he will, to this day, claim he didn't consider it an “actual date." Hannah heard when she got back to school that next semester, that he had started dating someone else, and she was devastated. She decided to take a break on dating...until Jordan finally called her up again that following November. He told her that he wasn't dating anymore, and she used that opportunity to ask HIM out. Talk about a strong, independent woman! They dated for 2 years before they got married, and have been married for 4 in May of 2019, even though you can tell they're still as in love today as they were on their wedding day.
Their guests were invited to their intimate renewal ceremony via a custom bridal stationery suite designed and addressed by Emilime Designs. With hand-pressed floral elements on the invitation, and a custom wax seal, their guests were wowed by the stunning simplicity and unique floral pairing of their custom stationery.
Hannah was pampered in the morning as she sat like a rock star getting her hair done by Brie Wallace, and makeup fit for a queen by Brooke Cero (Beauty by Brooke). She sat in the beautiful bridal suite provided by the Barn at Grace Hill that included lounging couches, a beautifully lit hair and makeup station, and even a mini-fridge for any type of goodies she wanted to indulge in during her preparations. She slipped into a beautiful Dany Tabet gown, provided by Dress Gallery. Jordan donned a tux from Gentry LTD that could have easily landed him in GQ magazine.
For their "first look," they met while "Heaven's Knife" by Josh Garrels played in the background (their first dance song). On their original wedding day, it rained nonstop, and their outdoor wedding was forced inside, so they loved the opportunity to "redo" some of the elements from their wedding day that they missed.
Hannah and Jordan's guests were able to stop at the guestbook station to find a beautiful vintage table that held their custom wood-covered guestbook for their attendees to write blessings for the couple's renewed love.
The couple had their intimate vow renewal ceremony under an asymmetrical waterfall of coral balloons, paired with beautiful coral chiffon material that started from the top of the barn doors and cascaded pooled on the floor around them.
The Barn at Grace Hill also has a beautiful wooden cross available, for couples who want to incorporate their foundation of faith into their special day.
They were able to exchange unique, sweet treats at their reception including raspberry lemon triangles, mini donuts, honey hazelnut pana cotta (YUM!), and artisan chocolate cake pops all made by local sweets expert Lisa Buckingham of Buckingham Cakes. Guests were able to find their seats thanks to a custom, hanging wood element donned with beautiful calligraphy also created by Emilime Designs. Their head table showcased a beautiful balloon and flower wrapped runner, paired with vintage-inspired dishes, glasses, and flatware, provided by Endless Treasures. We loved their unique feature of a Sweet Tea bar for their guests to enjoy, as well!
When they needed a break from dancing the night away, they were able to lounge on a gorgeous, vintage couch next to a radio-turned-candle fireplace by Endless Treasures. It was the perfect little spot to get some much-needed relaxing time alone.
We ended their day with a walk on the wild side. The night before their ceremony, an arctic blast rolled through the state, covering everything in an icy frost. Getting their permission before racing outside, we worked alongside Nick Miller, owner of Wild Oak Films, quickly capturing those final moments of the day. The contrast between Hannah’s soft gown and the hard, icy elements of the frost lead to the most magical shots of their frozen fairytale.
